Small batch rhubarb platz. It’s a great no fuss dessert that is made up of a thin layer of cake, a generous layer of rhubarb, and buttery crumbs on top. Perfect for spring and summer, and easy to customize with whatever fruit is in season.

Read MoreHey friends! My obsession with rhubarb is still 100% alive and well. Seriously…get ready for a bunch of rhubarb recipes from me in the coming weeks!
But if you can believe it….I had never made rhubarb jam before this year. So crazy! I had a few extra pieces of rhubarb leftover after making a platz, and decided to make a small batch of jam. It was so small in fact, that it makes one perfect jar…

The sweetness of the blueberries complements the tartness of the rhubarb so so well, and when you bite into these muffins, the colours work so beautifully together as well as pops of purple and pink stand out against the white muffin base. I added a hint of ginger for some depth as well, although you can definitely leave it out if you’re not a fan! And if you can’t find any rhubarb (I realize it’s getting a bit late in the season), you can swap in a different kind of berry (blackberries would be divine!), or simply use more blueberries.

Read MoreCan you tell that strawberry rhubarb is a big deal over here? Seriously one of the best flavour combos of all time, especially when they're roasted together to really bring out their flavours. Although I must say that I'm not a huge fan of roasting strawberries unless they're local ones....the California ones the grocery stores carry the rest of the year just aren't the same! Honestly they just taste like disappointment. Ha! Which is why I go a bit strawberry crazy for a very short period of time.
Read MoreHello! Today we have such a wonderful (and maybe unusual?) Summer pie to talk about. If you're unfamiliar with saskatoons, they're kind of like a smaller blueberry, with almost a nutty taste. Hard to describe! But they make amazing pies, even if they are a pain in the butt to pick! Ha! They tend to ripen individually, versus blueberries which often ripen in clusters. Soooo.....when you're picking them for money, the saskatoons are much harder! I was always a terrible berry picker when my family had more berries (we used to grow a ton of raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries), and I didn't even bother to attempt to make money picking saskatoons. Hahaha.
