frocktail party: a retro dress & blueberry basil lemonade

Oh hey friends!  Surprisingly, there is no pumpkin involved in this post!  Shocking I know!

Now, do any of you remember those divine, purple, blueberry basil doughnuts I shared a while ago?  Well, that flavour combo has really stuck with me, and today I'm sharing another blueberry basil recipe!

For the drink, I was inspired by the classic shape of the dress, as well as the gorgeous colour, and came up with a spin on an oldie but a goodie....and thus, Blueberry Basil Lemonade was born!

blueberry basil sparkling lemonade

recipe by: Kelsey Siemens
yields: 2 servings

directions:

Combine the lemon juice, blueberries, and basil into a blender, and blend together until smooth.

Pour the lemon blueberry mixture into two cups that have ice in them, splitting it evenly.

Add club soda, as well as your sugar, and top with a few blueberries and/or basil leaves to garnish.

Enjoy!

ingredients:

3 lemons, juiced

1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)

10-15 fresh basil leaves, chopped finely

1 cup club soda

4 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

crushed ice

I love the fresh spin that the blueberries and basil give a classic like lemonade, and look forward to using that flavour combo again in the future!  Now put on a fancy dress, make some lemonade, and invite some friends over to enjoy it with!
